Well, that's what you get in a theocracy, either tacit or acknowledged. Scary thing is, we're going the same way with Tony Abbott putting the cross thru stem cell research (pun intended)
I just shows you the sort of forces that are at play in Indonesia. It's a difficult situation to be in though (for SBY and the Indonesian Government). Try balancing the need to have a US conciliatory, anti-terrorism foreign (and domestic) policy with a predominantly impoverished muslim population. Pakistan does it but they do so without worrying about that pesky practice of democracy thing.
